The land on which Denver sits is the traditional territory of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Peoples. We also recognize the 48 contemporary tribal nations that are historically tied to the lands that make up the state of Colorado.

Held on the second Monday of October to honor Indigenous American peoples and commemorate their histories and cultures. Most city agencies are closed for the holiday. Other agencies may have impacted hours. Agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport, and sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will continue to be available.
