Data Explorer

DDPHE has been monitoring the levels of pollution in water in Denver's lakes and streams for over 45 years. Over that time, the goals of monitoring have evolved to include many other important details of water quality.

DDPHE samples most of the streams and many of the lakes in Denver at least once a year. Sampling results are compared to water quality standards issued by the State of Colorado to determine if it's safe to be in contact with waters in Denver's streams and lakes.

This web application gives users the ability to view monitoring results and to learn about which streams do not meet water quality standards.

Denver Area Monitoring Sites

This data layer shows sites where water monitoring has been conducted in the Denver area. Click on a specific site to get the most recent monitoring data and to access older observations

You can click on the chemical name to open a menu and view other sampled chemicals. You can also change the date by clicking on the selected date and choosing other options

This data layer shows sites where E. Coli has been recently sampled

- No data in the last 90 days

- Below recreational standard - 126 CFU/100ml or less

- Use caution - 126 - 235 CFU/100ml

- Not safe for recreation - more than 235 CFU/100ml
