Redeem Your Pet

Where Do I Redeem My Pet?

If your pet is impounded by Denver Animal Protection, you will need to visit the Denver Animal Shelter at 1241 W Bayaud Ave. during business hours to reclaim your pet.

To determine if your pet is at Denver Animal Shelter, view our lost pet database online.
You may also call us during business hours at 720-913-1311 or 311.

What Do I Need To Bring to Pick up My Pet?

You will need to bring the following items with you to redeem your lost pet.

  1. A driver's license or photo ID with your current address.  If your address is not current, please provide paperwork with proof of current address.
  2. You will need to pay all fees by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
  3. Your pet's rabies vaccination certificate and spay/neuter certificate is required.
  4. Proof of ownership such as photos or veterinary records.

DAP’s priority is to reunite pets and families; therefore, we offer payment plans to pet owners. If DAP determines that payment of fees by a pet’s owner would cause significant financial difficulty, or present a barrier to redeeming their pet, DAP may choose to reduce or waive fees.
