Denver, alongside our regional partners, requires masks in indoor settings for most businesses and venues. Businesses can opt to verify vaccinations before entry, in which case masks would not be required.
In 2017, Denver City Council approved an ordinance that altered the licensing requirements for individuals and companies that provide security services. This new law will take effect on November 1, 2018. Denver Excise and Licenses will no longer issue or renew Merchant Guard and/or Merchant Guard Company Licenses when this new law takes effect. Instead, Denver will require individuals who provide security services to obtain a new Security Guard License and companies that employ security guards to obtain a new Private Security Employer License. These new licenses can only be submitted online going forward.
