Denver Joins Multi-County Effort to Increase Voting Access to Public

Voters in Denver County, Adams County, and Arapahoe County can return ballots or vote in-person at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library joint Voter Services and Polling Center

DENVER, CO – The Denver Office of the Clerk and Recorder is excited to announce it has joined in the multi-county Voter Services and Polling Center (VSPC) partnership hosted in the Martin Luther King Jr. Library located in Arapahoe County.

This site is the convergence of the three bordering counties of Adams, Arapahoe and Denver. The joint VSPC is a collaboration among Denver County Clerk Paul López, Adams County Clerk Josh Zygielbaum, and Arapahoe County Clerk Joan Lopez along with their respective Election Divisions, who are working together to provide access to all voters who reside in near this border territory.

This is the first VSPC location in Colorado with three participating counties. Upon recognizing the county boundaries oftentimes intersect and lead to confusion on where to vote, Clerk López, Clerk Zygielbaum, and Clerk Lopez came together, to create solutions for most residents who live in the area, despite their county.

“Voter access is a key priority for me and my office,” says Denver Clerk Paul López. “This is an important step in the right direction for all those seeking democracy along the historically underserved neighborhoods along East Colfax.”

The joint VSPC voting location is a centrally located walkable location and is conveniently located on the RTD #15 bus route.

The Office of the Clerk and Recorder continues to work to create more opportunities and additional partnerships to advance voting access to residents in border territories.
