Denver Clerk Paul Lopez Appoints Sonya Ulibarri to Strategic Advisor

Hon. Paul D. López, Denver Clerk and Recorder has appointed Sonya Ulibarri to the role of Senior Strategic Advisor.
Ulibarri is a seasoned nonprofit executive with more than 25 years of experience in community-based leadership programs. Most recently, Ulibarri served as the Chief Impact Officer for the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, a philanthropic organization that builds influence, equity, and opportunities for members of the Latino community across our state.
Previously, Ulibarri served as the President & CEO of Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, Executive Director of Youth Biz and the Grassroots Institute for Fundraising Training. Currently, Ulibarri serves as the President of the Denver Public Library Commission. She has previously spent time on dozens of other boards and commissions. She is also a Bonfils Stanton Foundation Livingston Fellow, an NYU Women of Color Policy Institute Lead The Way Fellow, Latino Leadership Institute Fellow, and Hispanas Organized for Political Equity (HOPE) Bi-National Fellow.
She has been honored through various awards, including the Colorado Women’s Chamber Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business Award in 2023, and the Latinas First Foundation Trailblazer Award in 2024. She speaks often on topics such as racial and gender equality, leadership development, fundraising and philanthropy, social enterprise, and youth development.

In her role in the Office of the Denver Clerk and Recorder, Ulibarri will work on building the overall internal and external strategy of the office, for both the Clerk and Recorder and Elections Divisions. She will continue building and maintaining strong relationships with various business and community partners across the City and County of Denver. She will support Clerk Lopez in leading the office in implementing our Mission, Vision, and Values.
