2024 General Election Ballot Measure Public Comment

The Clerk and Recorder accepts comments in favor of (pro) and against (con) ballot measures for publication in the Ballot Information Booklet. 

The following proposed ordinances will appear on the November 5, 2024, General Election ballot:

Full text for Fur Ban Measure
Shall the voters of the City and County of Denver adopt an ordinance concerning a prohibition of fur products, and, in connection, beginning July 1, 2025, prohibiting the manufacture, distribution, display, sale, or trade of certain animal fur products in the City; and providing limited exceptions to the prohibition?

Full text for Slaughterhouse Ban Measure
Shall the voters of the City and County of Denver adopt an ordinance prohibiting slaughterhouses, and, in connection, beginning January 1, 2026, prohibiting the construction, maintenance, or use of slaughterhouses within the City; and requiring the City to prioritize residents whose employment is affected by the ordinance in workforce training or employment assistance programs?

Shall the Charter of the City and County of Denver be amended to remove the requirement that City Council vote on elected official salaries every four years prior to the General Election and to remove discretion in settling the salaries, and instead require that the salaries be stated in ordinance, and any future adjustments shall continue to be the lesser of either the CPI increase for the Denver Metro Area or the cumulative percentage change for Career Service Denver employees?
