2022 Energize Denver Awards

Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency is now accepting applications for the 2022 Energize Denver Awards! This year, we are celebrating buildings leading the way towards an equitable net zero energy future by 2040. If a building you own or a project you worked on exemplifies excellence in one of the categories below, please submit your application by July 31, 2022! Applications will only be accepted for buildings located within City and County of Denver. 

Efficient Electric Heating and Cooling

This category recognizes all-electric buildings or buildings with efficient electric space or water heating. Please tell us the story of the building’s electrification journey. The application asks for lessons learned, advice for other building professionals, and equity and community leadership initiatives.

Energy-Saving Retrofit

This category recognizes commercial, industrial or multifamily buildings in Denver that have undertaken a major retrofit to reduce energy use. Tell us your story of the retrofitting process, energy savings and other benefits (health, wellness, etc.), and lessons learned.

Equitable Community Impact

Buildings that excel in this category are enabling equity and community leadership. These buildings serve underserved or historically marginalized groups while saving energy and/or electrifying space and water heating.

Please fill out the application if you think the building you own, manage, occupy, or have worked on exemplifies an equitable and community-focused efficient or electric building.

Smart Leasing

Smart Leasing aligns the interests of tenants and landlords to improve the energy performance and health of rented spaces. This can include special lease language, activities together, or education.
