Required at the time of license application

Select your business type and submit the following documents with your application for a contractor's license in Denver.

Corporation, in-state

  1. Articles of incorporation. 
  2. If doing business under a trade name (DBA), a validated copy of trade name must also be submitted.
  3. Also submit a notarized copy of minutes of a meeting or other notarized documentation on company letterhead showing a complete list of company officers. (Submit this if you are not listed on articles or if there is more than one officer.)
  4. If the corporation has been registered with the state for 1 year or more, please submit a current periodic report. A Certificate of Good Standing will not be accepted. 

Limited Liability Company (LLC), in-state

  1. Articles of organization.
  2. If doing business under a trade name (DBA), a validated copy of trade name must also be submitted.
  3. Also submit a notarized copy of minutes of a meeting or other notarized documentation on company letterhead showing a complete list of LLC members and/or LLC managers. (Submit this if you are not listed on articles or if there is more than one member.)
  4. If the LLC has been registered with the state for 1 year or more, please submit a current periodic report. A Certificate of Good Standing will not be accepted. 

Partnerships (General), in-state

  1. General partnership -- statement of registered partnership.
  2. Also submit notarized documentation showing a complete list of all partners in the form of notarized meeting minutes or other notarized documentation on company letterhead.

Partnerships (LLP or LLLP), in-state

  1. Articles of organization.
  2. If the LLP or LLLP has been registered with the state for 1 year or more, please submit a current periodic report.
  3. Also submit a notarized copy of minutes of a meeting or other notarized documentation on company letterhead showing a complete list of all partners.

Foreign Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (LLC), and Partnerships, out-of-state

  1. Statement of foreign authority. 
  2. If doing business under a trade name (DBA), a validated copy of the trade name must also be submitted.
  3. Also submit a notarized copy of minutes of a meeting or other notarized documentation on company letterhead showing a complete list of company officers of the corporation, members of the LLC, or partners if a partnership on company letterhead (this is required for all out-of-state companies.)
  4. If the corporation, LLC, or partnership has been registered with the state for 1 year or more, please submit a current periodic report. A Certificate of Good Standing will not be accepted. 

Sole Proprietors Using a Trade Name (Individuals)

  1. Submit a current copy of the trade name registration.
