Contractor licenses can be renewed online up to 30 days before the license expires. Licenses that have expired must be renewed in person or by mail. If a license has been expired for over a year, it will require a reinstatement.
The city does not mail renewal notices.

If this is your first time renewing online, you will need to register for a free, online account in e-permits. Once registered, use the "My Account" function in e-permits to add your license number to your online account. After your account has been set up, select "Contractor Licensing" and follow the prompts to renew your license. Make sure to upload all required documents before submitting your renewal application.

After completing the above steps, bring the completed form, all required documents, and payment to the Contractor Licensing counter. The counter is located on the second floor of the Wellington Webb Municipal Office Building at 201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver.
View current fee amounts. Make checks payable to “Manager of Finance” and include the license number being renewed.
NOTE: The checking account must be in the exact name listed on the contractor's license. Renewals received with payment by another company or individual will be returned to be processed as a “Change of Name/Entity.”
