Submit a Notice of Intent to File a Designation Application

From time to time, the city receives demolition or certificate of demolition eligibility (CDE) applications for buildings that staff believe could become landmarks. When this occurs, notice of the demolition application is posted on the property and on this webpage for 21 days. During this time, community members can submit a "Notice of Intent to File a Designation Application." Submitting this notice of intent will extend the time allowed to file a designation application for that property. If the city does not receive a notice of intent or a designation application, the demolition application will be allowed to proceed.

City ordinance allows for three types of persons to submit a notice of intent to file a designation application:

  1. The executive director of Community Planning and Development
  2. A member or members of City Council
  3. Three (3) residents of the City and County of Denver
