PRO Housing Grant Application

The Department of Community Planning and Development has won financial assistance from the federal government through the PRO Housing Grant to identify and remove barriers to affordable housing in Denver. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded Denver $4.5 million in funds. Denver was one of 21 localities to receive an award. Some proposed activities with which to use the funding include:

  • Regulatory and process reform: Reviewing land use policies and codes to identify areas where the city can modernize outdated rules that no longer reflect city priorities.
  • Affordable Housing Review Team: Expand our ability to approve more affordable housing sooner with additional staff to work with developers.
  • Infrastructure and Environmental Remediation Loan Fund: Directly addressing financing for affordable housing.
