Councilwoman Flor Alvidrez is the council woman for District 7 managing all staff below. She ran for city council in order to serve the community she grew up in and to be a catalyst for change for the sustainable growth of the city. She regularly attends all scheduled council meetings, is on the Finance and Governance, and Land Use and Transportation committees. Councilwoman Alvidrez is working on building relationships with the many city departments hosted within the city which is a passion of hers. Before coming to City Council, Councilwoman Alvidrez worked in real estate, engaging with the residents of the city to help them find housing. In her off time, Councilwoman Alvidrez regularly participates in yoga classes, enjoys painting, hiking, and attending museums with her son, Alex. If you get the chance, ask her about her ability to play the violin, or the improv theater shows that she performs in.

Mark Montoya is the Senior Aide for Councilwoman Alvidrez and her office. Mark is primarily in charge of finance and communications for the office. Mark enjoys working with the councilwoman, and noted that his favorite characteristic of her is her ability to be quick witted and have a sense of humor even under immense pressure. Mark wanted to work for City Council in order to represent the city at large and give his energy to a cause he believes in. Mark comes to City Council from his last job working as a grant accountant for the University of Reno Nevada. Mark also used to work for former councilmember Debbie Ortega before coming to this position. Mark loves gardening, playing cards, and panning for gold. If you ever get the chance to meet him ask him about his secret talent, freestyle rapping!
