Hon. Paul D. López, Denver Clerk and Recorder, has appointed Sabrina Allie to Deputy Clerk and Recorder. R. Todd Davidson has served as interim deputy since May and will now return to his position as Director of Elections.

“Sabrina is a true homegrown public servant and brings unparalleled experience in service to the people of Denver. I am extremely proud to appoint her to this critical role in our agency at such an important time in our country,” López said.

Sabrina Allie is a mission-driven, results-oriented strategic policy and communications professional with more than 25 years of experience in public service. Sabrina led communications, government relations and community engagement for Denver's Department of Housing Stability, responsible for preventing and resolving episodes of homelessness and the development of additional affordable housing. She was instrumental in the creation of the department's Five-Year Strategic Plan, City Council passage of hundreds of program and development contracts, and significant expansion of engagement with people with lived expertise in homelessness and housing instability.

In previous roles, Sabrina was responsible for effectively communicating with 1.3 million Colorado Medicaid members, 90,000 Denver Public Schools students and their households, and 110,000 State of Colorado employees. In Spring 2019, she ran for Denver City Council in District 1.

Sabrina served as deputy director of communications for then-Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, including during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and later as advisor to his successful 2010 gubernatorial campaign. As governor, Hickenlooper tapped her to lead communications with state employees and pass a state constitutional amendment reforming the personnel system.

Sabrina previously served in key communications leadership roles at The Colorado Trust and the City of Golden, and worked more than 10 years as an award-winning journalist. She also was a founding editor and publisher of The Denver North Star community newspaper in 2019.

Sabrina has volunteered with multiple education nonprofits committed to serving inner-city youth, including as PTA president at her children’s schools and as president of the board of directors at a high school for students experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Sabrina holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado-Denver. She was selected as one of the Denver Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 in 2014 and is a proud Leadership Denver alum. Sabrina is married to Joel Allie, has a 17-year-old son in college in New York City, a 14-year-old daughter entering high school, and two Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
