What is the DHS GIVE Center?

DHS GIVE Center is a free resource providing emergency goods and services with a trauma-informed, person-centered, and holistic approach. Any Denver County resident may receive support from the DHS GIVE Center. Our team serves as liaisons between our customers and community partners who focus on specific areas of need.

DHS Give Center is located at the DHS Welcome Center (2929 W. 10th Ave., Denver, CO 80204)

What Support does the DHS GIVE Center Provide?

Vital Document Fee waivers

  • Colorado State identification cards
  • Colorado birth / death certificates

Wellness & hygiene items

  • Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) boxes, snack bags
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, etc.
  • Menstrual products
  • Child & adult diapers
  • Dog & cat food

Referrals for the following items:

  • Clothing
    • Precious Child (children’s clothing for ages infant - 18 years of age)
  • Prescription eyeglass vouchers & non-prescription readers

 

How do I get started?

I have an emergency need

If you have an emergency need:

  • To receive support, you must be a Denver County Resident
  • The DHS GIVE Center identifies an Emergent Need as a life event arising unexpectedly requiring urgent support or services.
  • If you are experiencing an Emergent Need, walk-up services are available at DHS GIVE Center Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • On Fridays the DHS GIVE Center is open for curbside pick-up only.
  • Important: The GIVE Center closes early (at 2:30 p.m.) on the third Wednesday of every month.


I am a Case Worker or Community Partner

If you are a Case Worker or Community Partner:

  • If you are a Case Worker or Community Partner, please download and complete the GIVE Center Caseworker Referral Form(PDF, 294KB)
  • If you have a client who identifies as "Homebound" (meaning they do not have transportation access, or medically cannot leave their home), please download the complete the form linked above.

  • Expect to receive a confirmation email from one of our team members with next steps.
