If you get Colorado Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, you and your family also get the Explorer Pass. You can get into many Denver area museums for $1-2. The Explorer Pass works at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Denver Zoo, History Colorado Center, and many other places!

How do I use the Explorer Pass? 

The Explorer Pass is built into your EBT card. Some places need reservations, or have coupon codes you can use online. Be sure to take a look at participating locations, as well as limitations in the tabs below:

Butterfly Pavilion $2  

Explorer Pass allows up to 10 guests per card for $2 each. The Butterfly Pavilion accepts SNAP, EBT, WIC, P-EBT, and cards from out-of-state. To access these discounted tickets, guests need to come in person and present their card to the front desk. The discount is not available online.

Clyfford Still Museum

$1 The $1 admission is available for up to 5 tickets in-person and online. Guests can purchase tickets online using the discount code "Explorer/snap" for up to 5 adult admission tickets. You must then show your EBT card when arriving at the Museum.

Tickets for SNAP recipients are available, by advanced time ticket, daily starting at noon through our website for $1 per guest. Guests will be asked to present their SNAP card or mobile SNAP app (along with their electronic ticket) at the gate for entry.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

No blackout date or times for the SNAP admission. The SNAP ticket is only for general admission tickets and not valid for any special programs. Children 18 and under are now free at all the History Colorado Center, and at all of its community museums.

Molly Brown House Museum $2  

Your Explorer Pass admission gives you entry to the "Explore on Your Own" self-guided tour option. It is good for up to four tickets. To get the discounted price, use “SNAP” as the coupon code when checking out online. You must apply it to each ticket individually.

What is the Explorer Pass?

The Explorer Pass is available for Colorado SNAP recipients. It is built into your EBT card. With the Explorer Pass, you can get a $1-2 general admission at many different Denver area museums and cultural centers. At some museums, you can get up to 10 tickets at the discounted price!

Please note that the discount is good only for general admission. Your EBT card cannot be used to purchase admission tickets, at gift shops, or at cafés/restaurants. Tickets for special exhibits must be purchased separately and cannot be purchased with your Explorer Pass (EBT card).

The discounted admission offer may not be valid on event days. Be sure to check website of each museum/cultural center for special event days before you head out.
