Food, Cash, and Medical Assistance

We're here to support you. Whether you need financial assistance to get back on your feet, help with grocery bills, or support finding health insurance, we’re here to help you stay safe and well and get where you want to be.

You can apply for food, cash, and medical assistance at the same time online through Colorado PEAK. You may also download an application (en español) and mail it to us. If you do not have reliable access to the internet, give us a call at 720-944-4DHS (4347) to have an application mailed, faxed, or delivered to you.

More Information

Are these the only assistance programs you offer?

No. Learn more about the other types of assistance we offer at our Additional Assistance page.

If I don't qualify for these programs, are there other ways I can get help?

If you don’t qualify for food, cash, or medical assistance, we encourage you to contact our GIVE Center by emailing DHSresourcehub@denvergov.org or calling 720-944-1250. GIVE Center staff can connect you to vital document fee waivers, clothing referrals, and monthly hygiene items, and connect you to community partners for additional support.

Can I get assistance if I'm an immigrant or refugee?

Yes. Denver has a history of welcoming immigrants and refugees and will continue to act as a welcoming city and an ally for all new arrivals. Our mission is to protect those in harm’s way and help all people in need, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.
