Free Parenting Skills Course from Denver Human Services (DHS)

In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Denver Human Services (DHS) is offering a free, in‑person parenting skills course at its East Office (3815 Steele St., Denver, CO 80205) in northeast Denver. The four‑week series is open to all community members and is designed to help caregivers build practical tools for navigating challenging behaviors and strengthening family relationships.

The course is based on the evidence‑informed Love & Logic® approach, which teaches caregivers how to respond calmly, set healthy boundaries, and support children through empathy and natural consequences.

What will I learn?

You will learn strategies to:

• Stay calm when behavior becomes challenging
• Build more respectful, connected relationships with their children
• Teach responsibility through empathy
• Create a more peaceful home environment

The course instructor Rebecca Ball is a certified Love & Logic® Institute Classroom Facilitator and a leader in Denver Human Services’ Child Welfare division. “Parenting can feel overwhelming at times,” says Rebecca. “This course is designed to provide families with encouragement, community, and practical tools that work in real life. All caregivers deserve support.”

Each course session will cover different topics and materials. Attend all, or just one. Whatever works for you!
