DHS now offering EBT services at Rocky Mountain Human Services Site
Published on December 10, 2024
DENVER (December 10, 2024) — Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) services are now available at Denver Human Services (DHS) Southeast Denver Neighborhood Resource Site (NRS), located within the Rocky Mountain Human Services (RMHS) offices at 9900 E. Iliff Ave. This expansion provides Denver residents with convenient access to critical resources such as food, cash, and medical assistance programs. These resources help to support the well-being of individuals and families throughout the Southeast Denver metro area and communities.
"Expanding services at our Neighborhood Resource Site allows DHS to continue building a supportive, accessible resource network across Denver,” said Anne-Marie Braga, DHS Executive Director. “With the addition of EBT services at the RMHS NRS, we are extending our reach to more individuals in Southeast Denver, offering support and resources right where they live. If you typically receive your EBT services, including card replacements, at another DHS location, we welcome you to visit our RMHS Neighborhood Resource Site. We’re currently experiencing shorter wait times for EBT services at RMHS NRS, including the possibility that customers may be able to receive services in the same day of their visit. It may be a more convenient option if you’re able to travel here."
The RMHS Neighborhood Resource Site, which opened in November 2023, is a space for Denver residents to access a range of supportive services, including assistance in determining eligibility for food, cash, and medical benefits, as well as specialized programs for parents, veterans, youth, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to EBT services, visitors can find assistance with child support, emergency housing relief, property tax relief, and connections to further community resources.
Key DHS Services Offered at the RMHS Neighborhood Resource Site:
- Newly added EBT services for food, cash, and medical assistance eligibility. Initial and replacement EBT cards.
- Eligibility determination for SNAP or food, cash, and medical assistance.
- Child Support Services for parents and families.
- Supportive programs for veterans, youth, and the disability community.
- Emergency Assistance for housing relief and property tax relief.
- Daily necessities (such as hygiene products and school supplies, based on availability).
Denver Human Services invites residents to visit the Neighborhood Resource Site at RMHS for help accessing the benefits and resources they need to thrive. The RMHS NRS is a part of a network of six strategic DHS locations in northeast, southeast, southwest, and central Denver that provide in-person services. With multiple options, customers have easier access to DHS’ essential services across the city. In March, DHS reopened the second-floor lobby at the Richard T. Castro Human Services Center in Sun Valley and there are plans to open a Neighborhood Resource Site in east Denver by the end of the year. These physical locations will allow DHS customers multiple ways to access support – whether it is online, by phone or in-person. Before visiting in person, residents are encouraged to call 720-944-4DHS (4347) to confirm service availability, as some services may vary due to staffing.
