The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report provides in-depth information about the operations and financial position of the City and County of Denver. The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (USGAAP) and is audited by a firm of licensed certified public accountants.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the year ended December 31, 2019. The Certificate of Achievement is a national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports. The City and County of Denver has received the Certificate of Achievement award for 39 consecutive years.

The management letter is issued in conjunction with the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The letter identifies issues not required to be disclosed in the annual financial report and represents the external auditors findings and recommendations noted during the audit.
