Gallegos to Join Denver as Deputy Director of Housing Opportunity

The Denver Department of Housing Stability (HOST) is excited to announce Renée Gallegos as its next Deputy Director of Housing Opportunity.

Gallegos holds 20 years of varied, progressive experience in affordable housing development, consulting and financing, with expertise in project management, financing models, and budgeting.

“Renée brings a wealth of experience to our work in Denver that will help us achieve our ambitious affordable housing goals,” said HOST Executive Director Britta Fisher. “We look forward to having her passion for the work, creativity, problem solving, and support for the team in our growing agency.”

She joins Denver from the City of Boulder’s Department of Housing & Human Services, where she has led the Community Investment Team in bringing more affordable housing units online, coordinating emergency pandemic investments, and managing the city’s relationship with HUD.

Prior to Boulder, Gallegos worked with Impact Development Fund, Community Strategies Institute, GDS Advisors, and Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University, and a master of business administration from the University of California-Berkeley.

Gallegos will begin with HOST Jan. 5, 2022.
