Find Shelter

With colder weather anticipated, the City and County of Denver will activate its Cold Weather Shelter plan. For this activation, the Department of Housing Stability will provide extra shelter beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28 and will remain open as long as cold weather conditions continue. Individuals in need of shelter are encouraged to go to "front door" shelter access points:

  • For individual men – Denver Rescue Mission Lawrence Street Community Center, 2222 Lawrence St.
  • For individual women – Samaritan House, 2301 Lawrence St.
  • For youth ages 12-24 –Urban Peak,1630 S. Acoma St.
  • For families - Inn at the Highland, 2601 Zuni St. For additional support or questions contact the Connection Center at 303-295-3366.

24/7 shelter is also available at The Aspen shelter (former DoubleTree hotel), 4040 Quebec St., and at 2601 W. 7th Ave. and 375 S. Zuni St.

Cold weather poses a serious danger to people who are unsheltered, and the city encourages people to come inside. For more information about shelter access, visit the Front Door page or text INDOORS to 67283 for updates.

The Department of Housing Stability (HOST) partners with many agencies citywide to provide shelter for people experiencing homelessness. There are many shelter facilities throughout the city, so rather than requiring people in crisis to navigate a complex system, we have identified specific centrally-located facilities as the “front door” access to the entire system. These locations have longer hours for intake and have transportation available to other facilities. They can also help people navigate which shelter facility is the best option for their individual situation.

Circulator Bus

HOST is now offering a free circulator bus service for persons experiencing homelessness.

Hours of Operation
8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
