Denver – Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is closing the W. 8th Avenue Viaduct to vehicle travel this weekend for necessary maintenance.
The closure of the W. 8th Avenue bridge between Tejon and Mariposa streets will begin at 7 a.m. Friday, July 25. It will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 28. The multiuse path on the viaduct will remain open for walking and biking.
During the closure of the bridge, motorists travelling east on 8th Avenue will be routed north on Wyandot Street to W. 13th Avenue, then east toward Mariposa Street and south back toward 8th Avenue. Detour map is below. Drivers on I-25 are encouraged to use 6th Avenue or Colfax Avenue as alternate routes.
