DENVER – Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) would like travelers to be aware of a temporary, new travel configuration that will go into effect near I-25 and Broadway, specifically where drivers headed north on Broadway transition to northbound Lincoln Street using Walsh Place. See linked map below.

Work to set up this new travel configuration will begin tomorrow as crews prepare to reconstruct Walsh Place as part of the I-25 and Broadway Travel and Safety Improvement Project. Starting on Monday, February 17, drivers headed north on Broadway will detour around Walsh Place with a right turn onto Ohio Street and then a left turn onto Lincoln. Travelers on the northbound I-25 off ramp will continue north onto Lincoln in a single lane through the detour area.

People traveling west on Ohio Street, east of Lincoln Street, will be able to make a right turn only at Lincoln. If needed, these travelers can use Alameda Avenue as an alternate route to northbound I-25.

The detour around Walsh Place is expected to last for approximately six weeks. Travelers will need to slow down in the area of the detour and may want to consider alternate routes. Work on the travel and safety improvement project will continue through spring 2026. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change. Residents can visit the project website at SoBroI25.com for updated information and to sign up for weekly e-blasts.
