Montbello Safer Streets

Improvements on Crown Blvd, Andrews Drive, 51st Street, and Uvalda Street

In the 2019 adopted Northeast Area Plan, the Montbello community called for streets to be connected, safe, and equitable. Between 2020 and 2023, Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is designing changes to four streets in Montbello to provide greater safety and mobility options in the neighborhood.  The extents of these improvements are shown in the map below.

Public meetings and stakeholder discussions were held to develop the goals and concept designs for each of these corridors in 2020.  Details from those meetings are detailed below.

Multi-modal improvements were completed on Andrews Dr in late 2021.

A bike lane and multi-modal improvements will be completed on Crown Blvd and E 51st Ave respectively in summer 2022.  For more current information on these corridors and timeline of improvements, please visit Bit.ly/DenverBikePaving.

Design is underway on Uvalda St and improvements are planned to be installed in 2023.
