Denver has opened a new public restroom on Champa Street, just off the 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver. Its hours of operation are 6:00am to 10:00pm Sunday through Monday with an attendant on site. The new restroom, with its colorful and inviting blue wrap, offers a convenient and safe facility for all to use, with touchless entrances and touchless handwashing, an internal, self-cleaning and disinfectant system, and space to queue – all critical features during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City and County of Denver is working to address a growing need for publicly-accessible restrooms and to evaluate options for providing restrooms in high-use, high traffic locations. Accessible public restrooms can benefit public health and the environment, and can even enhance people’s mobility options.
