Denver's MS4 Permit

The City and County of Denver holds Colorado Discharge Permit System #COS000001 for stormwater discharges associated with its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4). The City submitted its first application for an MS4 permit on November 18, 1991. Since then, the State has issued:

  • First permit on May 10, 1996
  • Second permit on March 20, 2003
  • Third permit on January 30, 2009
  • Fourth permit on December 31, 2020
