Denver Economic Development and Opportunity’s Denver StartUp Academy is a six-week, virtual program designed to provide early-stage entrepreneurs the foundational tools to successfully “start-up” in the City and County of Denver. Participants will gain access to city agencies, one-on-one business advising, local resources, and various subject matter experts in addition to networking with like-minded entrepreneurs.

Overview

This program is designed to serve entrepreneurs who want to create their own business in the City and County of Denver and who identify as one of the following:

  • Business Curious
  • Early-stage
  • Solopreneurs
  • Sole Proprietors
  • Home-based
  • Microbusiness

Please note: This program is not designed for tech startups, food & beverage startups, the cannabis industry or those with significant real estate needs.

Program Schedule:

April 2 - May 7 | Tuesdays, 12 - 1 PM | Virtual

  • Week 1: Introductions + Program Overview, Startup Resources + Homework
  • Week 2: Legal Considerations + one-on-one meetings
  • Week 3: Business Planning + Regulatory Requirements
  • Week 4: Marketing + Homework
  • Week 5: Financing + one-on-one meetings
  • Week 6: Tell Your Story  

Program participants will also have access to two, one-on-one business advisory appointments (30 minutes in duration) in addition to optional small group convenings.
