Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) is announcing the city’s first round of Legacy Businesses and opening applications citywide for round two of the Denver Legacy Business program. The program is designed to recognize and support longstanding small, locally owned businesses.

The City and County of Denver today announced it will hold a holiday gift drive for migrant children staying in its shelter system. Denver is currently sheltering 2,600 people, many of whom are children.From Dec. 4-18, new and unwrapped gifts from the recommended list can be dropped off at either of two Denver Workforce Centers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays only.

Mayor Mike Johnston, City Councilman Darell Watson, and Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) announced the release today of $500,000 in federal funds to support small businesses through grant dollars and technical assistance. Grants up to $15,000 address ongoing post-pandemic challenges, and this round is focused on small businesses that have been impacted by nearby encampments.
