What are the next steps after submitting my complaint?
Your form will be reviewed closely by the CFPD. Each case will vary; the needs will be accessed based on the complainant’s unique situation. You will be contacted within 48 hours by a member of the CFPD from the Office of Financial Empowerment & Protection.
What’s the expected time frame for my complaint to be resolved?
We hope to have a resolution within 60 days, unless your case involves the legal system. This will vary from case to case.
Can I expect to recoup lost wages? If so, what does that time frame look like?
It is our goal to make this request the highest priority; however, due to many circumstances and situations, we are unable to guarantee this result. We will offer other wraparound services that may be helpful to your situation. It is our goal to resolve your case in a timely manner, and that may include the collection of lost wages.
Can I expect legal recourse against my current/former employer?
This all depends in each individual case.
