This RFP process is now closed. Thank you for the 93 organizations that submitted an application. These applications are undergoing an internal technical review process before moving on to a community review process.  

 

Only organizations that completed a mandatory pre-application workshop and submitted their Letter of Intent to Apply were eligible to apply for funding. Final applications from eligible organizations were due in the Submittable platform on October 9, 2024 at 3:00pm MST.

Key Information

  • Approximately $1.2M, pending approval of the 2025 City and County of Denver budget, with awards ranging from $25,000-$100,000. Funds are only available on a reimbursement basis after a fully executed contract with the City and County of Denver. All services must occur between January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025.
  • Program services must be physically located in and primarily serve residents of the City and County of Denver at low or very minimal cost to participants, with demonstrated prior experience in providing successful programs.
  • The goal of these funds is to provide affordable, stable, quality neighborhood-based programs to support a diverse array of services to support the healthy care and development of children and youth across the following ages/grade levels, primarily outside the school day/school system:
    • Prenatal – Pre-Kindergarten (pregnant mothers–age 4)
    • Elementary school (ages 5-11, grades K-5)
    • Middle school (ages 11-14,grades 6-8)
    • High School (ages 14-18, grades 9-12)
    • Young Adults (ages 19-24)

Eligibility Requirements

  • A representative from the organization must attend a Mandatory Pre-Application Workshop.
  • The Mandatory Letter of Intent to Apply must be submitted.
  • Only not-for-profit organizations with active 501(c)(3) status are eligible. Fiscal sponsorship is allowed. (NOTE: Organizations currently funded through OCA’s multi-year comprehensive award process, with current contracts that run through 8/31/2026, are ineligible to apply). Government, quasi-government, Learning Education Providers, philanthropic organizations, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 SCFD organizations are ineligible to apply for funds as either a direct service provider or fiscal sponsor.
  • Only one application per organization can be submitted, unless your organization is a fiscal sponsor.
  • Organizations must be registered and in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of the State.
  • Organizations must have demonstrated prior experience in providing successful programs.
  • All services must be provided in and primarily serve residents of the City and County of Denver at low or very minimal cost.
  • Organizations must meet and maintain Minimum Insurance Requirements.
  • Organizations not licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services must meet Minimum Safety Requirements.

Funding Priorities

  • Programs specifically designed to engage upper elementary and middle school students, grades 4-8.
  • Programs designed to provide additional support to youth, encouraging positive engagement in pro-social behaviors, educational advancement, and life skills development.
  • Programs physically located in underserved neighborhoods.
  • Programs that serve our community’s most vulnerable and underrepresented populations at little or no cost to families.
  • Programs that provide consistent, regular contact with participants throughout the year outside of the school day/system.
  • Organizations that collect and use data and can demonstrate impact for the age-group served.
  • Programming models that are relevant to the needs of community and participants served.

November 18, 2024: Anticipated announcement of funding

January 1 - December 31, 2025: Award contract term
