The Office of Children's Affairs works to connect families to youth programs and support initiatives that address family needs around childcare affordability and availability, early literacy, social and emotional learning, youth transportation, workforce supports and youth violence prevention.

Denver Afterschool Alliance

Initiative: Ensuring children have access to quality afterschool programs and youth-serving organizations are supported through professional learning opportunities.

Denver Great Kids Head Start

Providing early education programs, support services and parent training to qualified families with children ages 0 to 5 and pregnant women at no cost.

MY Denver Card

Initiative: Giving youth, ages 5 - 18, free access to recreation centers, swimming pools, and free or discounted admission to various cultural facilities in Denver.

Tasty Food

Program: Providing youth, ages 5 - 18, with free meals, including breakfast, lunch, snacks and supper during the school year and summer months.

Youth Violence Prevention

Initiative: Working directly with youth and community organizations to address gaps and opportunities that will prevent youth violence across the city.
