Parks & Recreation

November 29-30, 2022 | Carla Madison Recreation Center: Denver’s Department of Housing Stability (HOST) will activate Carla Madison Recreation Center, 2401 E. Colfax Ave., to expand overnight shelter capacity for people experiencing homelessness Nov. 29 and Nov. 30. Carla Madison Recreation Center will close at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night as the space will be converted to an overnight shelter, and reopen 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, November 30. Those in need of shelter should be directed to the city’s “front door” access points for shelter and will be transported to other shelter facilities as needed, and therefore should not access the recreation center directly.
