Bike riding programs are offered to both adults and youth ages 10 and up.

Explore the excitement of mountain biking and master fundamental skills including body positioning, braking, and shifting. Participants will navigate Ruby Hill Bike Park's single track trail along with small slope-style lines.

Prior bike riding experience required. All equipment provided.

Climbing is a fun way to build confidence. Activities are offered for both adults and youth ages 5 and up. 

In addition to activities at Carla Madison Recreation Center, a portable climbing wall is available to rent. Improve physical strength and have a blast!

Ruby Hill Rail Yard

Closed for 2026 Season as of March 2: Thanks for a great season! Stay tuned for details on the 2027 season which are typically determined by mid-January based on weather and snow conditions. 

Since the first season in 2007, the Ruby Hill Rail Yard has been redefining what winter recreation looks like in the heart of a city. As North America’s first urban terrain park, the Rail Yard welcomes more than 12,000 visitors every season, offering free, family-friendly snow sports right in Denver. Thanks to a strong partnership between Denver Parks and Recreation and Winter Park Resort, volunteers, and community supporters, the Rail Yard continues to break down financial and physical barriers to winter sports. 

New! Surface Lift Fundraiser

In partnership with the Denver Park Trust, DPR seeks to install a new surface lift that will enhance the winter sport experience and foster a lifelong love of winter recreation by:

• Removing barriers for people of all ages, abilities, and experience levels
• Allowing users to get more rides in while visiting the Rail Yard
• Bringing the winter mountain resort experience to the city
