Resources
Denver’s Office of the City Forester is dedicated to improving and expanding the urban forest. Urban trees provide numerous positive benefits, such as slowing storm water runoff, cooling temperatures, providing shade, protecting biodiversity and reducing air pollution, to name a few. Together we can maintain our current trees and increase the canopy coverage size of our urban forest. For detailed information on canopy coverage and city goals, visit Forestry’s annual report that includes an interactive canopy map.
We offer Denver residents comprehensive access to a multitude of resources to support that goal, such as:
- Tips for selecting a licensed tree contractor, as well as access to a list of all currently licensed arborists in the city.
- The list of trees that work best for Denver’s climate.
- Information about how to get a free or reduced-cost tree.
We invite residents to work directly with our office which provides information on tackling their own tree care and access to a variety of our knowledgeable partners.
