Private Outdoor Fee-Based Activities

Private Outdoor Fee-Based Activities (POFA) are classes, camps, guided activities, programs, or related service organized and offered for fee, other consideration, or at no cost. POFA permits are issued for 6-month seasons. Please see Permit Process and Procedures below for more information.

POFA Permit Process

Spring/Summer POFA Season: April 2025 – September 2025

  • Limited number of POFA Sites available for permitting via emailed application
  • 3 business days after application receipt: Preliminary permits emailed to applicants
  • 3 business days after preliminary permit sent: Final payment due
  • Next business day after payment due date: Approved permits available online in ActiveNet account 

Fall/Winter POFA Season: October 2026 – March 2026

POFA permit reservations can be made via DPR’s Online Service Center or in person at the Parks Permit Office; login or create an account to get started

Fall/Winter Timeline
  • August 25: Requests accepted online beginning at 8:00am  
    **Please review online reservation instructions prior to this date
  • September 5: Approved permit available online in ActiveNet account
    Permits requested after September 5 will be approved within 48 hours
Additional Availability
  • Urban Parks
    • Most Denver parks will now be available to permit, and will include at least 1 Turf space & 1 Road/Trail space
    • Prior “Limited” Parks will continue to have the same number of Turf and Road/Trail permits available, except for Washington Park, which has one additional Turf (or Trail) permit available
    • All available parks allow 1 – 25 participants per permit
  • Mountain Parks: Available parks will have 3 Road/Trail spaces each. Requests beyond these will be considered on a case-by-case basis

It is the policy of Denver Department Parks and Recreation and its Manager (DPR), under circumstances appropriate for Denver parks, to permit citizens and organizations the use of specified areas within Denver parks for the provision of certain private outdoor fee-based activities and services to the public, subject to this policy.

Multi-Park POFA Pilot Program

A Multi-Park POFA Permit is a tour and/or guided activity (occurring in two (2) or more parks) organized and offered for which a payment, fee, other consideration is expected to be made to the Permittee or offered at no cost. Please reach out to the Parks Permit Office for more information.
