Denver's cold weather shelters will open at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16 and will remain open as long as cold weather conditions continue.
Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Solid waste collection will be on a regular schedule; customers should set carts out on their regular collection day.
Thanks to the voter-approved Parks Legacy Fund and RISE Denver Bond, improvements are being implemented at Dailey Park, stemming from its 2009 vision plan. Improvements and funds are concentrated for updates to the basketball court and the playground. Improvements to the irrigation system and walks will also be considered in this phase. Community engagement will include closely working with registered neighborhood organizations, council office and recreation center in the area. Public meetings, surveys and other outreach methods will be used determine the needs and preferences of the community for the improved amenities.
