Southmoor Park Improvements

Planned enhancements are in the works for Southmoor Park, which include a reconstructed basketball court and playground with possible new locations, ADA-compliant walkways, and turf conversion with associated irrigation upgrades. These improvements are intended to continue the park's legacy as a thriving community oriented open space. This project is funded by the Denver Parks Legacy Fund and Capital Improvement Project budget, along with the Elevate Denver Bond. 

Project Schedule:

  • Winter 2025: Public Outreach
  • Winter 2025: Design
  • Fall 2025: Construction Begins
  • Late 2026: Construction Complete

Virtual Community Meeting #2 | June 4, 2025

Denver Parks and Recreation invites you to join a virtual meeting to learn about the design of the park improvements. Spanish language interpretation services will be provided at this meeting.

Survey #1 | Closed March 7, 2025

The first survey was open until March 7, 2025 and gathered information about how Southmoor Park is used in order to continue the park’s legacy as a thriving community-oriented open space. It asked about preferences for the playground, sport courts, landscaping, picnic areas, accessibility, and other general comments from park users.

Community Meeting #1 | March 5, 2025

At the first open house for this project, Denver Parks and Recreation discussed improvements coming to Southmoor Park and gathered feedback from the community on preferred playground locations, themes, and elements, along with priorities for other park amenities including sport courts, landscaping, and picnic areas.
