The focus of the Denver Police Department is to prevent crime and increase public trust while honoring the responsibilities granted to us by those we serve. The Denver Police Department is a leader in innovative approaches to complex issues facing our city today and we continue to build on previous accomplishments through community engagement, partnerships, and programs. Regardless of the challenges we face, my goal is to provide police services consistent with community expectations. I have spent my career working to build consensus with the community and I look forward to continuing this work.

  • 2026 Denver Police Officer Salary Range: $75,257 - $115,780 Annually
  • Ten-hour shifts with three consecutive days off
  • Full salary and benefits starting on day one of the academy
  • Availability of off-duty assignments for extra pay
  • Vacation starts at 112 hours per year
  • Education Incentive Pay
  • 144 hours of sick leave per year

Press Releases

Complaints or Commendations

The Office of Independent Monitor (OIM) accepts complaints and commendations for all civil service personnel, including police officers. All complaints are assigned a case number by the OIM and forwarded to the Internal Affairs Bureau of the Denver Police and/or Sheriff Department to be assigned to a sergeant for review. The OIM monitors the entire Internal Affairs process to ensure that it is handled in a reasonable and appropriate manner.
