School Resource Officers (SRO) are Denver police officers assigned to Denver Public High Schools. While safety, in and around the school, is of the upmost importance for the SRO, so is connecting with students, families, and staff to build and foster positive relationships. Together, we strive to maintain a secure and nurturing space for education to thrive.

Officer Humberto Marquez - West High School

Officer Humberto Marquez excitedly joins the West High School community where he brings 18 years of law enforcement experience. As a father to three sons, Officer Marquez understands what it is like for students and looks forward to mentoring and working with the students at West HS. As a Denver Public School alum, Officer Marquez went on to play college football at Southwestern College and is proud to bring his experience to the West HS family.
Officer Julian Martinez - North High School

Officer Julian Martinez is accustomed to being involved with students through coaching and his four years of law enforcement experience. He joins the North High School community where he looks forward to helping students and their families through building relationships, offering resources, and being a mentor. Officer Martinez is excited to be a part of the NHS family and will do his best to support the students and staff in his role as a School Resource Officer.
