The Denver Police Recruitment Unit provides applicants with information to help them determine whether a career in law enforcement is right for them. Once that decision is made, we strive to guide applicants through the Denver Civil Service Commission application process and provide all candidates with the information needed to be competitive and achieve their goal of becoming a Denver Police officer.

Technician Janessa Smith

I was born and raised in Denver and have been employed by the Denver Police Department for more than 10 years. During my career as a Denver police officer, I have worked downtown on patrol and in specialized units, in undercover capacities, as a training corporal, and as a traffic investigation detective. Prior to the Denver Police Department, I was a Denver Public Safety Cadet. I am full of energy and strive to be a positive and well-rounded resource to the community that I proudly serve and protect. I am honored to be a Denver Police Recruiter and I look forward to hearing from you.

Technician Jeannette Dominguez

Technician Carlos Montoya

My name is Technician Carlos Montoya, a proud Denver native. I have proudly served with the Denver Police Department for 30 years in assignments including patrol, community resource officer, Denver Police Activities League, and most recently at Denver International Airport. Raised in a community-minded family, I developed a deep respect for service, integrity, mentorship, and giving back to my community.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to building strong community relationships, mentoring youth, and serving with professionalism, pride, and respect. I am honored to serve with the Denver Police Recruitment Unit, helping guide and inspire the next generation of officers dedicated to serving our great city with integrity and commitment.
