“Our local Advance team is proud to partner with Denver Police to play a role in curbing auto thefts,” said Michael Vigil, Advance’s district manager. “We’re hopeful that this giveaway makes a real impact to motorists while preventing crime in our community.”
To have the greatest impact on reducing auto thefts, Denver Police encourage owners of the most frequently stolen makes/models to take advantage of this opportunity, however, this is not a requirement. The following is a list of the Top 10 most frequently stolen vehicles in Denver year-to-date:
- Kia Sportage
- Chevrolet Silverado
- Hyundai Elantra
- Hyundai Tucson
- Hyundai Sonata
- Kia Optima
- Kia Sorento
- Ford F150 Truck
- Ford F250 Truck
- Hyundai Santa Fe
Additionally, Denver Police officers and DPD Volunteers in Police Service volunteers will be on-hand raising awareness of the recently launched DenverTrack program and providing onsite registration for anyone needing assistance.
“Crime prevention is a partnership, which is demonstrated here through the generosity of Advance Auto Parts,” said Denver Police Chief Thomas. “We encourage vehicle owners to take advantage of these free events to receive The Club and additional information for preventing auto thefts.”
The Denver Police Department is incredibly grateful to Advance Auto Parts for the generous donation of 200 free “The Club” auto theft prevention devices benefitting the Denver community and their continued partnership in safety. Previously, Advance Auto Parts partnered with DPD by providing 200 $25 gift cards for officers to give to motorists during traffic safety education and enforcement efforts – helping the motorists to repair vehicle headlights, taillights, or other minor vehicle safety issues.
