Denver Agencies Bring Awareness to Fentanyl Dangers

Today marks national Fentanyl Awareness Day, to which the Denver Police Department and the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) remind residents the dangers of fentanyl, encourage those facing drug addiction to seek help, and share how to help others impacted by drug abuse.

Denver Police Encourage Drivers to Cage the (Road) Rage

The Denver Police Department encourages drivers to Cage the (Road) Rage on Denver’s roadways. With approximately 110 reports of incidents involving road rage according to callers, all roadway users are reminded to be courteous and practice safe, lawful driving habits.

Dispose of Unused Prescription Medications This Saturday

The Denver Police Department (DPD) encourages residents to check their medicine cabinets for unwanted/unused medications and to drop them off at one of the nine participating Denver Police locations for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Police Seeking Information Related to Sexual Assault Investigation

The Denver Police Department investigated a sexual assault report that led to the arrest of Stephen Matthews (DOB 10/8/87). Denver Police investigators have received subsequent information indicating that there may have been other incidents involving Matthews.

Open Records Requests

To pay for the cost of processing a Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) request, the agency custodian may charge for the time spent to research and respond to records requests under CORA. Following the Colorado Revised Statutes C.R.S. §24-72-205(6), agency custodians may charge $33 per hour for researching, retrieving and reviewing records. There is no charge for the first hour of research, retrieval and review of records.
