Community Academy The Denver Police Department hosts several Community Academies throughout the year. The academy is designed to give an insight into how/what/why the Department operates.
Concealed Weapon Permits The State of Colorado authorizes legal residents of Colorado who demonstrate competence with handguns to carry concealed handguns in all authorized areas of the state and in accordance with state law.
Police Academy and Training The Denver Police Academy provides basic/lateral recruit training and administers the Continuing Education Program for the police department.
Victim Services The Victim Assistance Unit (VAU) provides crisis intervention services, support, information, and advocacy to victims, witnesses, and family members in the event of a criminal victimization or in certain instances of non-criminal stark misfortune.
Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) The Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) Program helps to sustain a spirit of cooperation and partnership with the community to enhance the Denver Police Department’s ability to serve the city of Denver. Volunteers are an integral part of our organization and have proven to be a valuable asset by increasing police responsiveness, service delivery, and information input.
Police Awards and Memorials The City and County of Denver recognizes police officers and police department employees that go above and beyond the regular call of duty to serve citizens. We also recognize the officers who have fallen in the line of duty while serving and protecting our community.
Dungeons & Dragons Police Department A community engagement program enacted by the Denver Police Department based on the classic Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game.
