Update 11/20/25: Thanks to the feedback we received, we have updated our draft policy. Please take a moment to review and provide comments.

EBD is an innovative alternative to traditional discipline, based on correcting behavior using development and training when there is a minor violation of policy and/or procedures.

EBD teaches the appropriate skills and/or procedures to the officer that has committed the violation, while helping the officer understand community and department expectations.

EBD is not a replacement for formal discipline in serious or willful violations.
