Help Denver Animal Shelter Clear the Shelters

We’ve found your new best friend who will always put you first, who’ll never disappoint you, and never ghost you for a guy or girl. That BFF is patiently waiting for you to pick them up at Denver Animal Shelter (DAS). Through August, DAS is offering significantly reduced adoption fees as part of Clear the Shelters, a national pet adoption and donation campaign.
The event teams up NBC/Telemundo television stations with local animal shelters and rescues to help find loving homes for animals and raise critical funds to support their work.
Through this month, you’ll pay $50 for all dogs and $30 for cats! Regular adoption prices at DAS are $150 for adult dogs, $95 for adult cats, $170 for puppies and $110 for kittens. Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, vaccines, and a one-year license.
Over 1,150 dogs and cats have already found loving homes at DAS this year and about 73 dogs and cats are currently available for adoption. Another approximately 122 animals are featured in our lost pets section and may eventually come up for adoption. Check our website for a wide choice of your future furry friends!
One animal to consider taking home is Falcon, ID#389029. She’s an Australian cattle dog mix. She’s 6 years old and nearly 22 pounds. She’s an energetic pup but she can also be chill. The poor girl has just one tooth, but that doesn’t stop her from chowing down and loving life. She needs a one-dog only home.
Also, you might consider Randall, ID#388928. He’s a 1-year-old Collie mix who came in as a stray. He’s smart, spirited, and is interested in other pups. So bring your pup down to see if they get along.
If a cat is more your style, meet Junebug, ID#A387788. She’s a 10-year-old Siamese. She’s affectionate, loves to talk, and isn’t the biggest fan of other cats. She’s been at the shelter since June 27.
Since its inception in 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped more than 860,000 pets find new homes.
Last year the campaign led to more than 161,000 adoptions and raised more than $540,000.
