Mileage fee for each mile actually and necessarily traveled in serving a criminal action is 50 cents per mile.
Civil
Mileage fee for a civil action – please refer to the mileage fee schedule below.
For service of two or more papers on the same person or different persons at the same time and place in the same action; the first service will be at the highest individual fee and an additional $10.00 fee for each subsequent process served.
“Actual expenses” means those personnel and processing costs incurred in typing, processing, filing, and serving said process papers but does not include mileage. Subject to the limitations contained in this section, the fee for each type of service shall be fixed by ordinance or resolution
The Denver Sheriff Department Civil Unit has established a zip code-based zone mileage fee structure. A mileage fee is charged for all papers served in a particular zip code zone regardless of the number of attempts or actual mileage traveled during an officer’s operational period. The current mileage rate for 2012 is 55.5 cents per mile and will be adjusted annually according to the prevailing Internal Revenue Service mileage reimbursement rate.
