Heading to one of our facilities? Getting clearance is only necessary, in most situations, when entering secure areas of the Denver jails.
Video Visitations
Video visitations of any kind do not require a formal clearance process. Video visits must be scheduled through Securus, however. Follow the steps on the "Find & Visit Someone In Our Care" page to set up a video visit.
Attorneys
Attorney interns are not permitted inside secure areas of the jails.
Attorneys who would like to set up video visits with their clients may follow the steps on the "Find & Visit Someone In Our Care" page to create attorney-specific accounts through Securus.
Private Practice Attorneys
Bringing a laptop or tablet:
Private practice attorneys with one electronic device – a laptop or tablet – must have their electronic devices approved prior to entering a secure facility. Once approved, go to either jail and present the approval letter, a current attorney registration card, and government-issued photo ID to the deputy at the lobby desk. To request approval of electronics, fill out this form: Request Entry With Electronics.
No electronics:
Private practice attorneys without electronic devices may go directly to either jail and present a current attorney registration card and government-issued photo ID to the deputy at the lobby desk. No prior approval is necessary.
Public Defenders & Alternate Defense Counsel (ADC) Attorneys
No approval is required for public defenders and ADC attorneys licensed in Colorado with or without electronic devices. You may go directly to either jail and present an agency badge or ADC ID/contract letter, current attorney registration card, and government-issued photo ID at the lobby desk.
