Employee Life Insurance Policy up to $400,000

Our employees get a free life insurance policy, as well as, the opportunity to voluntarily elect additional life insurance policies for themselves, a spouse and/or children. Accidental Death and Dismemberment policies are also available for employees and their dependents.

What is the basic life insurance policy?
This is a benefit provided to our employees with premiums paid by the city. The policy is typically 2 times an employee's annual salary to a maximum of $400,000. Learn more in the Group Basic Life and AD&D Insurance brochure(PDF, 58KB).

Can your employees choose who to designate as beneficiary for the basic life insurance policy?
Yes, our employees can designate their beneficiary and are encouraged to keep it current when their situation changes.

When can your employees elect additional life insurance?
