With the Delta variant surging, Denver has issued new public health orders requiring pre-K through 12th-grade students to wear masks at school and requiring city employees and some private-sector workers in high-risk settings to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to Denver Revised Municipal Code or D.R.M.C., Section 8-31 Rabies Vaccination Required, rabies vaccinations are required for all Denver pets. Rabies, a disease that affects the central nervous system, has no cure and is almost always fatal. Each Saturday and Sunday, Denver Animal Shelter offers a reduced cost vaccination clinic for public animals. Vaccinations provided at the clinic include rabies vaccination and the distemper/parvo combination vaccination.
The Denver Animal Shelter reduced cost vaccination clinic is open to the public for dog, cat and ferret (rabies/microchip only) vaccinations during the following hours:
Clinic services are first come, first served; often service numbers for maximum capacity are given out prior to 9AM. Due to high demand, customers should plan to arrive prior to the clinic start time to receive a service number.
Clinic Cancellations or Schedule Changes:
Occasionally we have to cancel or change the schedule for our vaccination clinic. When this occurs, cancellations will be posted on this page.
Cash and credit cards (Visa, Discover and Mastercard) are accepted.

Other Services Available During Clinic:
Will my pet receive a one-year or three-year rabies vaccination?Whether your dog or cat will receive a rabies vaccination that is “good” for one year or three years is determined by a few things:
Animals are first vaccinated for rabies between four and six months of age. They need a booster one year from that date. They are then vaccinated every three years if the veterinarian uses a vaccination that is labeled for three-years. However, please note that some veterinarians carry rabies vaccines that are labeled for only one-year duration.
We use the rabies vaccines that are labeled for three-years. If we are late for the one-year booster or the three-year booster, then the next rabies vaccine received will only be good for one year.
